Dairy Free Favorites Review

Reducing dairy in your diet is as easy as swapping brands and knowing how to substitute; especially with so many great alternatives out there now. I know picking out dairy-free products can be hit or miss, so here’s a list of all of my favorites including cheeses, yogurt, coffee creamers, plant based milks, and sauces.

Cheese

Violife Foods Parmesan

Delicious grated over pasta, salad, soup, fries, veggies, etc. It has a salty tang that gives you exactly what you need when you’re looking for that parm flavor.

This is a softer cheese that’s super versatile. Great for pizza, snack boards, salad, and more. Miyoko’s has a big range of dairy-free butters and cheeses that I like including cheese wheels, cheddar, and a ton of recipes on how to use them.

A great sub for cream cheese, this has a good texture and taste. I don’t recommend spreading it on anything hot because when it melts the cream cheese turns translucent and loses it’s thicker texture.

This cashew nacho cheese is my favorite! It comes in mild nacho and spicy blanco. This is perfect room temp or warmed up for nachos or dipping with Siete’s grain free tortilla chips.

I love the silky, thinner texture of this coconut yogurt. It’s similar to European style yogurt and the plain flavor has a great fresh coconut taste with a low amount of sugar. They also have vanilla, blueberry, and strawberry flavors.

Another coconut yogurt, but this is thick and creamy like a greek yogurt with a little bit of the same tang. All of the flavors are delicious and it comes in a plain non flavored option which is great for sauces or yogurt dips.

A probiotic yogurt made with raw young coconut, coconut water, and the flavored options are sweetened with stevia. It has a great creamy texture that’s not too thick or thin.

The best cashew yogurt that I’ve tried, specifically the unsweetened vanilla flavor or unsweetened plain. It has a low amount of sugar but the vanilla taste is great! Unlike the coconut yogurts, this does contain tapioca starch and locust bean gum as thickening agents which changes the texture and mouthfeel a little bit.

Milk and Coffee creamers

Nut Pods Coconut & Almond Creamer

This is my all time favorite dairy free coffee creamer. All of the flavors are delicious, creamy, and have 0g of sugar. Made with almond and coconut milk, and they have oat milk options as well.

Califia almond milk is my favorite brand. It’s unsweetened but has a naturally sweet taste and good consistency. They make an unsweetened almond coconut milk blend that’s great too!

Macadamia nut milk is another great option. Milkadamia makes a few different milks and flavors including coffee creamers and milk specifically for lattes.

Cashew milk with a little bit of coconut cream. Cashew milk is on the thicker side which makes it great for coffee, smoothies, oatmeal or porridge.

This is one of those all purpose sauces that you can use wherever you feel like. It tastes exactly how you’d imagine. Like creamy fresh garlic and lemon. It’s simple, delicious and a little goes a long way.

Such a good sauce for fries, burgers, etc. They make a vegan chipotle mayo option that’s egg free, it’s a little bit thinner than the original and just as delicious.
