Blueberry Muffin Smoothie

Sapien-52.jpg

This is one of my favorite smoothie recipes because it is chock full of antioxidants! Resveratrol is one antioxidant that I make sure I consume from whole food sources daily, and blueberries are one of my favorite sources of resveratrol. Some other sources that naturally have resveratrol include red wine, pistachios, and red berries. This is also a great meal replacement and is phenomenal at banishing hunger on busy days.

Why do I love this antioxidant so much? Because research suggests it could elongate our lifespan. We know that aging is damage, and antioxidants are imperative for repairing and preventing DNA damage and the effects of oxidative stress. Although most nutrients don’t go directly to your skin, we know that the healthier our bodies are, the better our skin will function, and ultimately lead to more healthy and radiant looking skin.
